“It was a really neat experience. The atmosphere was really relaxed which is unlike any other competition I've been to. The skaters are all really supportive of each other.”, Mirielle says about her experience.
Mirielle finished 6th in her qualifying round with a score of 57.53. With this placement she qualified for the final round.
At the draw ceremony for final rounds Mirielle drew 18th, the final spot in the line up for Short Program. Mirielle had a wonderful Short Program and finished fourth which meant she would be skating with the top six skaters in the final group, including Alissa Czisny who finished 3rd at the 2007 US Figure Skating Championships.
When asked about her favorite memory Mirielle spoke about the chance to compete and meet Alissa. “The most amazing part of the trip was getting to skate with and compete with Alissa Czisny. I was all excited when I checked in to my first practice to see her name on the list with mine. Then seeing her name right under mine for the skating order for long in final rounds...I HAD to take a picture of it!! I was definitely star struck. She's one of my most favorite skaters and I look up to her a lot so to see her in person and be on the ice with her and talk with her was something I'll never forget.”

Mirielle finished 9th in the Long Program which dropped her to 8th overall but that did not discourage her outlook for the future. “I'm looking forward to next year. I know what to expect now so next year will be a blast.” Despite the drop Mirielle did finish with a personal best with an overall score of 100.77.
Her mother and part time coach Christie Chambers said she was very proud of her performance, “This is really the first time that Mirielle has been a part of something with so much limelight. It was a great experience for her. 8th in the Nation at the college level isn’t too bad.”
